Louis L. Jacobs, formerly Head of the Division of Paleontology at the National Museums of Kenya, is Professor emeritus of Earth Sciences at Southern Methodist University. Following his stay in Kenya, he conducted extensive field work in Malawi, Cameroon, Mozambique, Ethiopia, and now in Angola with colleagues from SMU, Portugal, Netherlands, and Agostinho Neto University. Beyond Africa, he has conducted fieldwork in Mexico, Pakistan, Yemen, Mongolia, Antarctica, and the US. He is the author of Quest for the African Dinosaurs and Lone Star Dinosaurs. A former President of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, nine fossil species are named for him.
