Here’s What Sochi Looks Like from the ISS

In some ways, they have the best view of anybody this year - no stray dogs, or double toilets, just beautiful lights and an interrupted stream

Every couple of years, some city turns into a giant spectacle fueled by international competition, full of intrigue, drama and corruption. The Olympics are always incredible, in one way or another, and the ISS recently captured this beautiful image of Sochi from space.

This isn’t the first space image of the Olympics. Here’s Vancouver just before the Olympics began there in 2010.

The astronauts on the ISS are known to watch the Olympics while up there. Plus, the Olympic torch passed through the space station this year. In some ways, they have the best view of anybody this year - no stray dogs, or double toilets, just beautiful lights and an interrupted stream.
