Lyric Aquino is an intern in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History's Office of Communications and Public Affairs. In addition to being an anthropologist, journalist and Indigenous community leader, she's currently a science writing graduate student at NYU and has been published in PopSci, High Country News and Scienceline. Lyric is a dedicated reptile mom and tends to her gecko, Draco. In her spare time she loves to play Skyrim, read fantasy novels and explore the natural world.
