Kurt Vonnegut's Account of U.S. Troops Pushing into Germany
Days after D-Day, the depleted Allies look for reinforcements to complete their final push into Germany across two formidable barriers: the dense forest of Ardennes, and a defensive belt of minefields tank traps and bunkers on the German border known as the ‘Siegfried Line’. Among them was a college student-turned-G.I. by the name of Kurt Vonnegut.
