He walked on the Moon and now he'll strut across the dance floor.

ABC has announced that astronaut Buzz Aldrin will join the cast of the next season of "Dancing with the Stars." At age 80, he'll be the second-oldest contestant ever to compete for the mirror-ball trophy, which he could then display with his Presidential Medal of Freedom and Congressional Gold Medal.

Aldrin was the second man to step foot on the Moon, on July 20, 1969. He'll now compete against the likes of Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek and Pamela Anderson.

"Living on Air Force retirement and Social Security, I'm forced to go out and sing for my supper quite a bit," Aldrin told the Web site Zap2it. Or at least dance for it.

Series 10 of "Dancing with the Stars" starts on March 22. Good luck, Buzz!
