Kaleela Thompson

Kaleela Thompson is a former science writing intern at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History and a master’s student at George Washington University studying Biological Sciences. She earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Entomology and Nematology from the University of Florida and currently researches tarantulas and jumping spiders. Her deep-seated curiosity for critters inspired her 2011 published book, "Oh Where, Oh Where is my Swallowtail?," which reflects her commitment to spreading enthusiasm for natural science. When she's not researching and writing about spiders, she is playing the classical guitar and mandolin, breeding butterflies and arachnids, immersing in Marvel comics and collecting fossils and rocks.
