If you are not a professional freelance-writer, but a reader who wants to suggest a story topic click here.

Smithsonian.com accepts unsolicited proposals from established freelance writers. This Web submission form has been developed to give you the most direct and timely access to the editors of the Web site. It also allows you to provide all of the basic information we need to make an initial determination about your proposal and about you as a writer. This form is now the only means by which we can receive and evaluate story proposals and should be used in place of both postal mail and email submissions.

If we are interested in pursuing the story, we will contact you.
