Most classes are designed for beginners or are designated for all levels, and many can be repeated for an ongoing experience with a particular instructor or medium. Smithsonian Associates

Classes are guided by professional artists and experienced educators who create a supportive and stimulating atmosphere for learning and discovery. Small class sizes allow for highly personalized one-on-one guidance from instructors. Individual and group critiques help students develop their techniques and personal vision. Interaction with fellow participants plays a key role in each class, too: Students tell us they love both the creative and the social aspects of working together.

Becoming part of Smithsonian Associates' studio arts program means more than simply taking a class. You’re taking your place in—and contributing to—a vibrant creative community.
