Nina Strochlic

Nina Strochlic is a freelance journalist and former staff writer for National Geographic, who has covered conflict, migration, human rights and culture in 23 countries. She was previously a staff reporter for Newsweek and the Daily Beast. Her first book, on the history of magic, came out in 2025. She’s the co-founder of the Milaya Project, a nonprofit working with refugee artists in Uganda.
