The International Printing Museum

The International Printing Museum, located in Southern California, is a dynamic museum devoted to bringing the history of books, printing, and the book arts to life for diverse audiences. The staff and volunteers make it their mission to take one of the world’s most significant collections of antique printing machinery and interpret it for today’s audiences through working demonstrations and hands-on workshops.

Exhibits

The International Printing Museum features the Ernest A. Lindner Collection of Antique Printing Machinery considered by many authorities to be one of the largest, most comprehensive collections of historic graphic arts equipment in the world. The Lindner Collection features many notable developments in the history of printing. Check out highlights such as the Columbian printing press, the second iron printing press to be built, and the Albion press, as well as many others.

Visitors also get a chance to do some HANDS-ON printing on real presses and will see the incredible Linotype machine create their name in type to be used on the presses.
