The Heckscher Museum of Art, located in Huntington’s historic Heckscher Park, has been bringing great art to Long Island since 1920. An outstanding Permanent Collection of more than 2,500 works from the early 16th century to the present, paired with a dynamic exhibition schedule, makes The Heckscher Museum the cultural centerpiece of Long Island.

Draw Out! Free Community Arts Festival

Join us for a day of creativity in the Museum and Heckscher Park! Enjoy a broad array of activities designed for all ages, including watercolor painting, collage, and more. Live music on the terrace throughout the day. Docents will be in the galleries to bring the artwork to life.

Moonstruck: Lunar Art from the Collection
Through September 18, 2022

Drawn from the Museum’s Collection, this exhibition features a broad range of artwork inspired by the moon and moonlight. From the nineteenth century to the present, artists have gravitated to the moon for reasons scientific, mythic, and symbolic. The celestial artworks on view explore our enduring fascination with the moon in all its phases.

Global Asias: Contemporary Asian and Asian American Art from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation
Through September 18, 2022

Global Asias: Contemporary Asian and Asian American Art highlights the work of fifteen artists of Asian heritage who draw on a rich array of motifs, techniques, and cultural motivations to construct diverse “Asias” in a modern global context. Combined, the works in Global Asias suggest the plurality and fluidity of “Asia” as cultural construct and creative practice. The exhibition is guest curated by Chang Tan, Assistant Professor of Art History and Asian Studies at Penn State.
