Pioneers’ Museum showcases the development of Imperial County from a barren desert into thriving farms and communities. The unique format of the multicultural galleries portray the daily lives of the various ethnic groups who settled here, the challenges of bringing water to the desert, the evolution of local agriculture and the life and times of our hardy pioneers.

Exhibits

Free admission for all guests on Museum Day, no ticket needed. We will have indoor events for adults and children all day.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
