Morven Park

Morven Park, located on the northern edge of Leesburg, Va., was once the home of Virginia governor, Westmoreland Davis, and his wife Marguerite. More than 70 years after his death, the accomplishments and ideals of Gov. Davis still resonate within the 1,000 acres of this one-of-a-kind place. Stroll the historic gardens, hike the wooded trails and take a tour of the impressive 19th century estate.

Exhibits

The mansion will be open for all ticket holders to tour at their own pace. Guides will be available in each room to answer questions and provide insights into the history of the people, architecture and collections.

Davis Mansion
In its 200-year history, the Gov. Davis Mansion transformed from a tiny fieldstone farmhouse into the Greek Revival estate we see today. Morven Park has been the home of two governors: Thomas Swann Jr., who used Morven Park as his summer home while serving as mayor of Baltimore before becoming Maryland’s governor; and Westmoreland Davis, governor of Virginia from 1918 to 1922, who along with his wife Marguerite, purchased the property in 1903.
