13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest
The Thames has been the meandering spine of London for centuries and it is on the banks of this iconic river that London was built.
I had been observing and studying the tides of the river to be able to capture the city at various locations at the right time. On this day, I was surprised to see how calm the river was - I had never seen it so still.
I feel lucky to have been able to capture Westminster Bridge and Big Ben, two of the most recognisable icons on London, on that day.
