15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest

This was taken in Berlin in the summer of 2017. I took the shot because I though it was a classic city scene. I think it optimizes the city. The striking yellow embodies the vibrant soul of berlin. The windows suggest eyes and the video sticker highlight that you’re never quite alone in a city anymore. Windows mirrors and cameras mean you are seen at all times in public. It’s something city dwellers have come to terms with but it still gets me. How many eyes watch every mundane movement you make?
