The Antarctic Treaty reserves Antarctica for peaceful purposes (tourism) and scientific endeavors. The heart of the treaty meets at Petermann Island when the m/v Ortelius and Armada Española both arrive at the Island. The Orelius carrying tourists and the Armada Española carrying scientists researching invertebrates. The penguins were already there.
