16th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
I was traveling to Hong Kong with my mother, who loves temples and other traditional/cultural things. Whenever there were temples, we had to stop in and take pictures. This one looks particularly plain, but it was so interesting to us as foreigners, to see that this was just a regular place to pass by on the street in Hong Kong. It seemed so foreign to us as Americans. I particularly liked the split of colors-- light blue paint on the wall and chipped red incense pots-- and the even distribution of lanterns and pots.
