Sentinel Rock

An erratic granite boulder, left by the receding glacier 10,000 years ago, is the centerpiece of Vermont's smallest state park, Sentinel Rock Park. High above Willoughby Lake near the Canadian border, this rock has been a favorite picnic spot for generations. Here, the October Milky Way streams into the sky above it in the moments after sunset.
