Quarantined Reindeer

A sick reindeer is separated from the herd. A healthy reindeer’s coat is waterproof, meaning it can lie in snow without melting it; icy spots may indicate fever. There are reindeer veterinarians in Lapland, but for such sensitive animals, there is often very little that can be done.
