Ox and Cart

A symbol of Costa Rica, an ox rests beside a beautifully ornate cart. Oxen have been used by Costa Rican farmers to haul fruit, coffee beans and tobacco for hundreds of years. The colors and symbols painted on the carts are representative of what town and neighborhood the cart is from.
