Misty Morning on Mauna Loa
No one is more committed to conservation than hunters. This picture was taken on a hunt for invasive non-native wild sheep that destroy Hawaii's native grasslands on Mauna Loa. Hunting of non-native species in Hawaii, Texas and Florida has proven to be an effective means of control, crucial to saving and restoring ecosystems, extremely low impact, and economically sustainable. The meat is often donated to local food banks as well.
