Math Class

To me, a sustainable travel project means leaving a community better than you found it and helping to enact lasting positive change. I am so proud to be part of an organization that is empowering women in Anupshahr, India. I took this photo at Pardada Pardadi School, where I was a volunteer for a year in 2009. I'm currently their volunteer coordinator. This is a typical 7th grade math class at the school. Students sit on the ground and work from old textbooks, but are always eager to learn.
