16th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
On the top of the Exit Glacier, I saw this feeble trail marker next to a rapid stream. However, everyone was already exhausted climbing up all the way up so people pretty much always ignored the marker. That was when the idea struck me that the markers are only meant for our physical form, whereas the souls coming this far into the wilderness are destined to get lost.
