The Henry House bore witness to the first major land battle of the Civil War, the Battle of Bull Run or Manassas, depending on which side you ask. The original house, and one of its occupants, Judith Henry Hill, did not survive the battle but this recreation reminds visitors of how battlefields often enveloped innocent bystanders. This photo depicts what it would have been like on the outside looking in, as well as what the family might have seen looking out during more peaceful times.
