Light filtered through the foliage onto the mossy patches of Gioji Temple

Having seen and heard of the beautiful moss gardens of Kyoto, I was especially excited to photograph the moss gardens of Gioji Temple. With sunlight filtering downwards to form discrete lit patches on the soft moss, the lighting was perfect for photography and contemplation.
