Isla San Lucas's Crumbling Jetty

San Lucas Prison, located in Costa Rica's Nicobar Peninsula was an infamous prison that housed criminals and political prisoners as young as 14 years old. This image shows the jetty prisoners would disembark upon when arriving on San Lucas Island. The idyllic island is ringed by sandy beaches and shark-infested water. Today, the decommissioned prison is being reclaimed by the jungle.
