Human Cremations

In India and Nepal, people after they die are cremated in accordance with Hindu Religion rituals. In Kathmandu, Nepal, these cremations take place on the banks of sacred river Bagmati near the Pashupatinath Shiva temple.As many as seven bodies are cremated, each on its own pedestal. Wood and butter are the main combustible source of the cremation fire.
