Hope out the window

This photo was taken from the broken and no longer functional classroom overlooking the beautiful Panjshir Valley. Afghanistan still struggles with a high percentage of illiteracy between its population and in the midst of all the unrest, schools have been a big target for insurgents. The broken window overlooking a beautiful valley is an example of the value education holds in the country's progress and hope for a better and peaceful future in the midst of all these dark times.
