I took this photo using self timer while hiking alone in the French Alps. The hike up took me about 3 hours after the cable car took me about half way up. I went to the French Alps in the Summer of 2015 following my 5 week stay in Siena, Italy where I was studying Italian language and culture. Going to France was my first real solo traveling experience and although it took me stepping off the overnight bus into the city center of Chamonix to realize I didn't know one word of French, my days hiking here were hands down some of the best days of my life. The scene in this photo is a place I dream of regularly and find serenity in when life feels hectic.
