Guatemala's Colorful Cemeteries
Locals say that colorful cemeteries in the Guatemalan highlands owe to the indigenous Maya view that life after death is not to be feared, but seen with a hope and vibrancy. Each year families return to paint again with a new color as a form of renewal.
