Going to Hemis

Hemis Monastery sits outside Leh, in the Himalayas of northern India, at around 12,000 feet above sea level. I visited the area in April 2017, right as winter was coming to an end (though it was still quite chilly). The monastery sits at the base of Hemis National Park, which features phenomenal wildlife, including an active snow leopard population.
