From hurts to happiness
This is an important ritual of the Hindu Tamil community, this ritual to commemorate the God Murugan. The ceremony recalls the moment Murugan was given the trident by God Pavarti with unparalleled strength to win the devils.
The most prominent rituals are the iron crosses through the mouth, neck, or hanging milk jugs on the body with hooks. They perceive that the more they suffer, the more they prove to be respectful to the Gods, then the Gods will give them protection against the devil.
