Fields of Hyacinth in Sassenheim, The Netherlands
I'm in search of my roots. My opa's family is from here. He was a Dutch bulb exporter, largely to the east coast of the US in New York. When WWII struck, my opa was traveling in England while my oma was in The Netherlands. He could not get back there for the duration of the war. My oma had 5 children. One died of Leukemia at age 7. My oma was made of steel. Sturdy roots.
