Eastern Europe Night Bus

There is only one way to get from Kaunas, Lithuania to Gdansk, Poland, and that is via the Night Bus. You depart at midnight and arrive at 7am, creaking and groaning through flat roads that follow the Baltic Sea. It poured all night. I’ve often felt alone in my travels, but sitting on this bus, trying desperately to sleep, reminded me extra intensely that I was far from home.
