14th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
double decker living bridge, Cherrapunjee, India

After walking down 4500 uneven steps, in incessant rain, we came to the 180 year old double decker bridge at Umshiang. The water in the river was torrential, the foliage dripped water and there was a mist surrounding the bridge. the bridge was incredible.
