DONDI

The ritual that we are about to touch on is called "DONDI" This is Hindu rituals which take place every year on Sitala puja. The devotees wriggle on their belly through a long distance and cross over the baby to reach the temple shrine and they believe that their prayers will be heard. In April during a very hot summer afternoon this ritual Dondi take place in Kalighat area of Kolkata.
