Church that was once a mosque that was once a Roman city
Discovering the rich cultural history of places is a way to encourage the respect not only for that physical space as well as that emotional space. In that way being sustainable is related with the respect for the ground itself and all that it teaches us. This photo is from excavations taking place on the main catholic church in Lisbon, which was built on top of the previous main mosque some 900 hundred years ago. Not also it contains ruins from said mosque it also contains walls and streets from a previous roman city anything from 1500 to 2000 years old.
