Castle Nick, Hadrian's Wall

This photo shows what remains of Milecastle 39 (Castle Nick) and a portion of Hadrian's Wall. Construction began about 122 AD and took about 6 years to complete. The wall defined the northern boundaries of the Roman Empire in Britain.
