Boys Fishing in the Black Sea
One evening, I was in my hotel room when I looked out on my balcony at the sunset; it was perfect. I grabbed my camera and ran down the stairs, across the highway and began to set myself up and then I realized I had forgotten my tripod. The lighting was perfect and I knew I didn't have enough time to get it, so I improvised. There was concrete barrier that people were sitting on and I found a space to rest my camera. It was too low so I wasn’t getting much above the horizon so I used my lens hood to angle my camera. Then I looked over and saw some young boys fishing. This was an iconic image for the region I was in at the time. I ran over and again propped my camera up with the lens hood and took the picture.
