believers bathing into the Ganges river in Varanasi

This is one of the oldest and most important ritual in the Hindu tradition, that to go to the oldest Indian city of Varanasi in order to dive into the holy river. People depicted in the pictures represent a fast growing Indian middle class, whose moderns and high standards of life seem to be in contrast with their ancient creed.
