Agung - Holy Volcano

Mount Agung is the highest mountain on the island of Bali and is considered the most holy by the Hindu. It is also home to the mother temple, Pura Besakih. To the Balinese, this is the centre of their religion. The volcano dominates the landscape throughout the Island is a constant reminder to the Balinese of their beliefs. Here, you can find the most dramatic landscapes, villages, the most incredible temples and rituals. Ganung Agung is a symbol of Bali and its rich and diverse culture.
