Venice Endures All Kinds of Weather

This photo shows a woman wading knee deep through canal water in Venice to get from her home to the market place. The fact that Venice is composed of islands precariously in danger of sinking in the distant future is ingrained in the minds of the residents as every season they endure horrendous flooding. Venetians have no choice but to be environmentally aware. Venice does its best to preserve its history and sustain its future in the face of environmental insecurity.
