The indomitable desert bighorn.
For me, as an aspiring wildlife photographer, sustainable travel means respecting wildlife in their natural habitat. This means not approaching them, behaving aggressively or encouraging them to approach you. I have seen tourists congregating and crowding around bison, deer, wild boar and monitor lizards simply because the animals seemed docile and non-aggressive. However, such behaviour stresses them out and will put them and humans in harms way.
In this case, I used a telephoto zoom lens to photograph a desert bighorn ram standing atop a small ridge in the evening near the Hoover Dam. I was standing 100 metres away observing a herd of bighorn sheep grazing in the shadow of a hill atsunset. A ram then started moving to the crest of the hill to look at me. That is when I took a shot with my camera.
