LARAOS

Native potato cultivation in recent years has increased exponentially. They are being exported large quantities of these to foreign countries because of its food and flavors properties. In Laraos (Yauyos) cultivation of these native potatoes is done in the Andean terrace called "andenes" and there are more than 450 varieties of potatoes alone in Yauyos. Future investment by the government will be designed to recover 70 hectares of andenes and 9 kilometers of irrigation canals in Laraos and Carania. This photo was made during the celebration of the "Clean Irrigation Ditch" in Laraos where people dress representing the harvest, land and prosperity.
