Donna Against Ice

Donna Against Ice- was captured just off the Bear Island Archipelago of Scoresby Sound, Greenland while on expedition aboard the sailing ship Donna Wood. The objective of the journey was to promote environmental awareness and education of the significant climactic changes occurring in the Arctic. The sense of scale is quite often lost when photographing icebergs as this berg exceeded 60 meters in height with more than 70% of its mass resting beneath the waters surface. The Donna Wood’s tallest mast reaches nearly 30 meters into the air.
