A.J. Meerwald, The Tall Ship of New Jersey

The Meerwald is an ambassador of sustainable resource management. It is a research ship and waterway ambassador for young people wherever it travels. The Meerwald was an oyster boat that has been restored and is used in the coastal waters of the Northeast to research the impact of modern use on the environment while educating future generations in our history and teaching good stewardship of the coastal waterways and their future sustainability.
