A Close Encounter

During a 4 day sea kayaking trip off the northern end of Vancouver Island we encountered humpback whales, bald eagles, stellar sea lions, and the primary reason for my visit, orcas. We quietly propelled ourselves by day and each night stayed in camps hidden in the forrest, void of electricity. Fires were built below the tide line leaving no trace by morning. Spending days observing the natural behavior of wildlife and blending into the environment is the most rewarding way to experience nature.
