While we're distracted

Latin America is experiencing a period of extreme social tension. In Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, everywhere, people go to the streets because they want a political and social restructuring. And why do they fight? There are several reasons, but I think they are all related to the idea of a better future. Today's scream enhances the voice of tomorrow, is a way to ensure a better life for future generations. That's why I always loved watching the children in the protests. Many times, they do not have a full understanding of the cause, the possible consequences and what is really happening. Children participate in the crowd that sings, shouts, applauds, but they are almost always oblivious to the full meaning of everything that can also be confusing and abstract for many adults. What matters is that manifestations shape the voices of the future. The children of today will soon be the protagonists and I hope they do not have to fight so hard to live the reality they want.
