16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest
The Wall

Playas de Tijuana is the most Northwestern part in Mexico. The wall is the border between San Diego and Tiajuana and extends westward into the Pacific Ocean. The children photographed were racing up and down the beach to the border wall, using it as a natural finish line.
