The Latvian Girl
We were having fun at a wharf. She climbed up a white birch, imitated a frog, ran and jumped off from a bank. She was like a kid. Suddenly she stopped frolicking, and stayed there still. I wondered what happened to her, and looked at her face. She was gazing at the sunset. At that moment, her beauty took my breath away. The twilight made her face stand out, and I could not find her childlike countenance there anymore. I thanked to the dusk that I caught the divinity of the Latvian girl.
